A Message from the Rector

Dear Friend,

You may have visited a number of church websites before landing here. "What makes Saint David's different?" you might ask yourself. If we are preaching the same Love and Peace being with us, if we are doing the same services in the name of Christ, if we are teaching our children, youth and adults the same teachings of the same apostles, probably there is nothing different. This is oddly comforting, isn't it?

I can tell you, however, that while we endeavor to live into the vows of our baptism, Saint David's willingly engages that which challenges us. Here we are invited to be comfortable being uncomfortable and to doubt our own doubts. Here we support each other's learning and therefor growing processes. Does that mean we are a happy little commune singing Kumbayah? Well, maybe sometimes, but usually with an organ and choir. No, seriously, what this means is that we grow deeper into the heart and mind of Christ by listening with and alongside each other.

Here, we hope in a community courageous enough to disagree in love and to serve one another coffee at the same time. Here, we find strength in saying "Thank you" to God for all that we have with others because the gratitude seems so much fuller than what we experience on our own. Here, we find encouragement and inspiration to be a healer in the world where so many hurt because they are hurting so.

So, I hope you'll stay long enough on this site to learn our service times and join us. We need you! We need you to help share God's reconciling dream. Write me an email or just be inspired that we are another part of the Body of Christ, teaching that hope and love are the antidote to fear, and sharing the very excellent news that we are beloved beyond measure.
