Kids and Youth at
Saint David's Episcopal Church
Here at Saint David's, we believe kids matter to God - and they matter to us! At church, we hope young people feel safe, seen, and excited to grow in their faith. All are welcome to join us!
The Summer rhythm for kids & youth at SAINT David's EPISCOPAL CHURCH
Sunday Schedule
Nursery
Ages: 0 - 6
The nursery is open during the 10:30 a.m. service. It is attended by trained staff and volunteers who love to play with and care for our smallest parishioners!
Gospel Storytime
Ages: birth - rising 5th grade
On Summer Sundays, little kids will be invited to step out of the service following the Opening Collect for their own time of story, conversation, and activity. Children will return to you at the Passing of the Peace and join you for Eucharist.
Children's Worship Materials
Ages: all ages
To assist with participating in the larger service, there is a small bookshelf right outside the Nave full of materials. Children (or adults!) are invited to pack a bag with whatever might be useful. At the end of the service, please be sure to unpack the bag so it's all ready for next week!

MEET THE DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN & YOUTH MINISTRIES
Hi, I'm Claire!
Our heart at Saint David's is to offer intentional spaces where kids and teens can be themselves, ask big questions, grow in faith, and build friendships that last.
Children are whole people, not just incomplete adults, and at Saint David's, we invite them to join fully in our efforts to live into the Kingdom of God. For our part, we adults are committed to taking them seriously, keeping them safe, and making sure there is room for them.
Your kids matter deeply to us - and they matter even more to God!

MEET THE NURSERY COORDINATOR
Rahn Carlson
Though Rahn Carlson became the Nursery Coordinator in 2024, she has been helping in the St. David’s nursery for over 10 years. Rahn was confirmed at St. David’s in 2008 after attending the Episcopal church for many years in Atlanta and Nashville. The Episcopal liturgy, St. David’s open and loving community, and the encouragement to learn and grow her faith drew her to the Church.
Each week, she delights in spending time with “The Littles” (the Six and under crowd) in the Nursery. She delights in getting to know the children as this is often their first church experience and their first deep relationship with adults who are not their parents.
Rahn is a native of Connecticut and moved to Florida with her family at age 13. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia to obtain her Master’s degree in Library Science at Emory University and remained there for 26 years, working both for two Fortune 100 companies and in academia focused on Research Information practice in business and technology. She was the original author of CNN’s Factoids.
Safety at Saint David's
At Saint David's, we are committed to the safety of all God's kids, and we take seriously the trust caregivers place in us to safeguard children spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
All adults serving with minors have passed a background check and been trained in the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee's Safe Church, Safe Communities course. All environments with children and youth are attended by at least two unrelated, screened adults.
If you have questions about our policies or safety procedures, don't hesitate to reach out to Claire.
A Prayer for the Care of Children
From the Book of Common Prayer
Almighty God, Heavenly Father, you have blessed us with the joy and care of children: Give us calm strength and patient wisdom as we bring them up, that we may teach them to love whatever is just and true and good, following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
