Kids and Youth at
Saint David's Episcopal Church
Here at Saint David's, we believe kids matter to God - and they matter to us! At church, we hope young people feel safe, seen, and excited to grow in their faith. All are welcome to join us!
MEET THE DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN & YOUTH MINISTRIES
Hi, I'm Claire!
Our heart at Saint David's is to offer intentional spaces where kids and teens can be themselves, ask big questions, grow in faith, and build friendships that last.
Children are whole people, not just incomplete adults, and at Saint David's, we invite them to join fully in our efforts to live into the Kingdom of God. For our part, we adults are committed to taking them seriously, keeping them safe, and making sure there is room for them.
Your kids matter deeply to us - and they matter even more to God!

The Sunday rhythm for kids & youth at SAINT David's EPISCOPAL CHURCH
Sunday Schedule
Children's Chapel
Sundays at 9:15 a.m.
Ages: all
All are children and teachers begin Sunday morning together in Children's Chapel. This brief, child-led liturgy is inspired by the movements of the Eucharist. In this season, we welcome offerings of money or cans of cat or dog food to support animals in need.
Nursery
Sundays, 9:15-11:15 a.m.
Ages: 0-6 years old
Our youngest congregants will go from Children's Chapel to their own space of play, learning, and care. Nursery children will come into the service to join you for the Eucharist.
Godly Play
Sundays, 9:15-10:15 a.m.
Ages: K-3rd Grades
Young school-aged children will gather each week after Children's Chapel for Godly Play, a delightful program of storytelling, wondering, and play. Children in grades K-3 are invited to join the congregation for intergenerational Eucharist at 8 or 10:30 a.m.
EpiscoPALs
Sundays, 9:15-10:15 a.m.
Ages: 4th-6th Grades
Following Children's Chapel, tweens are invited to join the PALs for their own gathering of curiosity, creativity, and fun. This Fall, the PALs will be getting to know the life of Jesus and practicing the exploration of scripture. PALs are invited to join the congregation for intergenerational Eucharist at 8 or 10:30 a.m.
Youth Group
Every other Sunday, 12-1:30 p.m.
Ages: 7th-12th Grades
After the 10:30 service, youth group will convene in the Bosco Room. We will play games and eat lunch before transitioning to a time of shared liturgy and Bible Study. Please let Claire know about any allergies or serious aversions!
In Youth Group, we explore what it means to be the church: upward in worship, inward in a sense of beloved belonging, and outward in acts of service.
This Fall, the youth are asking questions about identity, getting to know each other, and establishing who they are as a Youth Group.
Youth are welcome to volunteer with the Nursery or Godly Play classes at 9:15 or join Adult Forum at that time. They are also invited to join the congregation for intergenerational Eucharist at the 8 or 10:30 a.m. services.
Safety at Saint David's
At Saint David's, we are committed to the safety of all God's kids, and we take seriously the trust caregivers place in us to safeguard children spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
All adults serving with minors have passed a background check and been trained in the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee's Safe Church, Safe Communities course. All environments with children and youth are attended by at least two unrelated, screened adults.
If you have questions about our policies or safety procedures, don't hesitate to reach out to Claire.
A Prayer for the Care of Children
From the Book of Common Prayer
Almighty God, Heavenly Father, you have blessed us with the joy and care of children: Give us calm strength and patient wisdom as we bring them up, that we may teach them to love whatever is just and true and good, following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
